Meet Jaime Vokes, the musician and maker behind Amp Covers NZ. Learn why quality, fit, and customer care are at the heart of every cover.
In my younger years, I worked as both a sailmaker and upholsterer, while also performing as a live musician owning my own PA system. To protect my music gear during transport and keep it looking professional for gigs, I began making my own custom covers.
Soon, other local musicians started noticing and asking where I got them — and before long, I was making covers for their gear too.
In 2002, I moved into the music retail and later the wholesale side of the industry, where I saw a real gap in the market for high-quality, locally made protective covers. Options were limited, so I decided to do something about it — and that’s how AMP COVERS was born.
For over a decade, I’ve been crafting custom protection covers for everything from iPads to double 21” concert subwoofers — and just about everything in between!
